Erik tossed and turned. Finally, he woke up. A sickening feeling hit him hard. Don't do it. Don't get up. Don't move. He thought to himself. Curtis Rx was having lunch with his faithful companion and best friend, Erik X. It was a normal day for the two, Erik quietly munching on a peanut-butter-and-banana-sandwich and browsing the day's newspaper, while Curtis meandered on the internet, sipping his beloved coffee. Curtis walked around, his eyes scanning the tombstones, reading the names of those who had perished. A sad smile flickered across his otherwise blank face as he brushed his hand over the cool stone. "Erik..." He knelt before the stone. His best friend. His lover. He closed his eyes, remembering the past. He willed himself to bring forward every last memory, every experience, good or bad, that he'd shared with Erik. A solitary tear slid down his cheek, dripping into the fine dirt.
